Pro Vobis National Resource Centre for Volunteering exists to promote and develop volunteerism as a viable and irreplaceable resource in solving the problems the Romanian society is now facing through training, consultancy, and research activities and facilitating networking among all stakeholders.

Pro Vobis fulfils its mission by implementing several programmes according to two main lines of action: (1) Services to promote the concept and practice of volunteerism in Romania (National Volunteer Week, National Conference on Volunteering, Public presentations on the concept and practice of volunteerism, on request, maintaining and updating the web portals www.voluntariat.ro, www.voluntareuropean.ro, implementing pilot volunteering projects, Pro Vobis Library) and (2) Services for developing the infrastructure for volunteering in Romania: information, training (in volunteer management, setting up a volunteer centre, managing volunteering programmes), consultancy, facilitation of networking and founding VOLUM Federation of organisations supporting volunteerism development in Romania, research, publications and resources in the volunteering field, giving presentations on the role of the volunteer centre within the community. Pro Vobis currently has 8 employees and is a member of: European Volunteer centre – CEV, VOLUM Federation, FOND (Federation of Nongovernmental Development Organizations in Romania, CSR 360 Global Partner Network).

Current projects relate to the development of volunteering infrastructure in Romania by providing training and consultancy to set up local volunteer centres, the development of resources related to volunteering, the organisation of National Volunteer Week 2011, contributing to setting up the national Federation of volunteer involving organisations as well as being actively involved in the implementation of the European Year of Volunteering 2011 in Romania. In addition Pro Vobis has been involved in over 10 EVS sending projects and has been selected to provide advice/assistance for EVS programmes in 2010, working on a volunteering and EVS promotion campaign, which shall continue in 2011.
